Motorcycle is a speedy vehicle with a varied range of services. You can easily avoid traffics if you are on your two wheels. Parking is not a problem at all for a motorbike. You can enjoy many facilities with your motorcycle. But, you should be careful about the maintenance of the piece to get a quality service. Only a few technical knowledge will help you lot to get a butter smooth service from your favorite vehicle.
Visual Analysis:
It is important that your journey on the bike should be safe. Invest a couple of moments before you ride on your bike each day. Make sure the brakes are working well, oil the necessary parts (if required). Check the battery, oil level and tyre pressure. Also check you have the necessary documents like insurance certificate, tax documents, driver's licence etc. are with you.
Regular Washing:
Cleaning is the most important task to maintain your bike. Avoid soap, kerosene or detergent to clean the body, instead use shampoo. Water is harmful for some of the parts your bike. So cover the ignition unit, muffler, exhaust, digital speedometer etc. with waterproof sheets so that water cannot reach there. The bike will have an excellent blaze for the regular wash.
Engine Maintenance:
An engine is the heart of any vehicle, and plays the key role to run it. So, a regular servicing is a must for an engine parts. Clean the parts like carburetor, float chamber, valves, sparking plug, spark points etc. regularly with proper care.
If engine is considered the heart, engine oil is the blood for it. It helps to keep the engine pistons fit. So change your engine oil in regular interval. Old and dirty oil increases the fuel consumption and consequently mounts your bill. Avoid bomber silencer as it damages your engine badly. Instead apply stainless performance mufflers.
Fueling:
Oil plays the vital role since it keeps all the movable parts of an engine active. Always use common oil as fuel and maintain the oil level in the right ratio. Check the level every day before riding it. And importantly do not forget to keep plenty of fuel in your two-wheeler.
Chain Maintenance:
There is a chain in every bike to move the wheels to and fro. Have a look on the chains if they are loose. Sometimes slack chains step down from the sprockets and lock the wheels. It may lead an accident. So lube the chain and maintain the right slacking proportion.
Check the Tyres:
A regular through check up is necessary for your tyres. A moderate air pressure level ensures a stable ride and increases the longevity of the tyres. So keep the tyre air pressure in a recommended and moderate level. Moreover, you have to check the tyre conditions. Look for any potential leakages or scratches on your tyres that can blow the tyres while riding.
Brakes & Clutch:
Brakes are the most important components of a motorbike. Make sure both the brake pads have proper space and can move freely. They should not be too much stiffened or too much relaxed. You may fix it upon your individual habit. Obey the speed limit and do not brake suddenly.
Lack of proper adjustment of your clutch can impede the natural pace of the motorbike. It also results in a hike of your fuel budget. So adjust the clutch to avoid unnecessary expenses. Lubricate both brakes and clutch for a smooth service.
Air Filter:
Every vehicle has an air filter to keep the engine and other parts free from dust. The filter gets dirty due to excessive dust on the road. Either replace or clean the air filter in regular intervals.
Drivers' Manual:
Each and every motorbike company offers a drivers' manual. It is printed with photos and instructions to help you repair the small troubles smoothly, and assemble the tools as they were before. Therefore, keep your drivers' manual always with you while you are on road.
Tool Kit:
A fresh motorbike gets a tool kit which is essential for small repairing of the bike. Be careful about the kit. Place it on a safe compartment on your bike.
Overload:
Overloading is one of the reasons for bending the wheel rims. So DO NOT put excessive pressure on your bike loading people or objects beyond the capacity.
